apparently this is diesel clothing brand’s current campaign. i’ve seen this kind of thing before, where porn images are drawn over to change the meaning and make them funny. but i’ve never seen it done for a video. the harmonica is hilarious … you’ll know what i mean when you see it!

this is pretty funny, family guy creator seth mcfarlane has started releasing short animations on youtube. so far, this is my favourite.

i know it’s been done to death already, but i wanted to talk about sally mclellan. her silver in beijing got the world talking. the 21 year old aussie celebrated like she’d won the gold, surprising the world media and capturing everyone’s attention.

what makes this so awesome is that her attitude really embraces the true spirit of the olymipcs. these days, the olympics is a money machine. the IOC refused to disqualify chinese athletes, anthems were stolen, performers were lip-syncing, journalists were arrested, and referees were kicked in the head … but then, there’s sally, jumping around wildly at the excitement of winning a medal.

living in korea i can see how obsessed people are about gold medals. to many people, silver and bronze don’t even count. in fact, korean netizens were writing comments online that if the athletes didn’t win gold, they shouldn’t come home.

the beijing olympics was the worst olympics in my lifetime. it’s an embarrasment to the olympic name. however, the olympic spirit is alive … not in the symbols of wealth and profit … but in the hearts of athletes like sally mclellan.

i bought myself a little mp3/pmp player yesterday. it’s a cowon d2. my ipod has just about shit itself and i wanted something small and convenient, preferably with video. i decided not to go with another ipod because i’m sick and tired of reorganising my fucking library every time i want to find songs (fuck you i-tunes). so now i can keep my library organised independently, and stored on my external 80gig hard drive.

the cowon d2 has 4gig of memory and i got a 4gig sd card, giving me 8gig in total. i’ve started throwing some music on it and i’ve put some movies in the sd card. the simpsons movie is there, animatrix, and some southpark episodes. i also put napoleon dynamite on it … i’ve been wanting to watch it again.

the reason i picked the cowon d2 (it’s korean made) is because of the subset of features. it has a voice recorder, organiser, notepad, full korean/english and english/english dictionary, calculator, alarms, etc. it’s also got a mini flash player, so i added a flash subway map to the player, so i can find where i’m going on the train.

i’ve stuck some photos on it too.

the only downside is that i need to convert movie files into a smaller format. but it’s not really an inconvenience, however it does take a while.

the upshot is that the player will be very useful beyond korea. since it plays mp3s and videos, all i need to do is keep a few sd cards and i’ll have plenty of music and stuff to keep me occupied.

plan ‘a’ is to use a spare sd card (2gig) and fill it with audiobooks … i’m really becoming addicted to listening to audiobooks while i’m on the subway.

grand theft auto … with a kickass ‘back to the future’ mod … including the flying delorian, the hoverboard and the flying train. both the car and the train disappear when they hit 88mph! and reappear again a minute later … both can also fly above the scenery and buildings.

that’s awesome!

you know, half asleep, on the verge of waking up … but it seems to be when i do some interesting thinking. this morning i had the idea to add ’sky diving’ to my list of things to do whilst traveling.

i’m thinking that i might do it in america. while i travel through the states, i could stop over for a week somewhere and do a sky diving course. that might be a lot of fun. learn to sky dive. during the week i could do a couple of video dives (for prosperity) and maybe even try diving nude.

why the fuck not!
